Frequently asked questions
Yes. Flip flops are not allowed. Sneakers soaked through become heavy and slippery. Proper water shoes with grip (Keen Newport, Merrell Hydro Moc, Teva Omnium) are the single most important item you can bring.
Yes, but only in a sealed waterproof case or dry bag. You will jump into water up to 8 meters deep. A quality case with a lanyard is around $15. GoPros with a floating strap are also popular.
Most guided tours include a Dominican lunch at the park visitor center (rice, beans, chicken or fish, plantain). If not, the cafeteria offers meals for $8-12 and cold drinks. Always bring water for the canyon route itself.
